The Royal Enfield Redditch series pays tribute to the original Enfield motorcycles manufactured in Redditch, UK.
The Royal Enfield Redditch range is set to be launched in the UK in April 2017. The bike will be based on the Euro 4 compliant Royal Enfield Classic 500.
At present, the Redditch series sold in the India is based on the Royal Enfield Classic 350 range. The bike uses the 346 cc mill which produces 19.8 bhp of power and 28 Nm of torque. Colour options include Redditch Red, Redditch Green and Redditch Blue.
The 499 cc single cylinder fuel injected mill is capable of producing 27.2 bhp of maximum power at 5250 rpm and 41.3 Nm of peak torque at 4000 rpm. The engine is coupled to a 5-speed gearbox. The 2017 Royal Enfield Classic 500 in the UK gets ABS, a rear disc brake and twin seats.
In addition to the colours, the 2017 Redditch series shall also bear the Redditch monogram which was used for the first time back in 1939 on the prototype of 125cc ‘Royal Baby’, a two-stroke motorcycle. The bike gets a headlight casing, oval tool box, exhaust fins, speedometer dials, single-seat spring saddle, tail light assembly and the headlamp cap. All these add up to the native imagery of British motorcycles post the Second World War.
The Royal Enfield Classic 350 Redditch series costs INR 146,093 (on-road, Delhi).
