The Range Rover Velar seen in the spy shot seems to have a dual tone white-black interior scheme. The four-spoke steering wheel is reminiscent of the 2017 Land Rover Discovery, but still quite different. The centre console layout again reminds of the new generation Discovery, but there’s some uniqueness to that too.

Below the two central HVAC vents, there’s a touchscreen infotainment system, most certainly one of the versions of the InControl Touch system. Along with rotary knobs for the climate control system, it appears there are some touch-sensitive controls. There’s a rotary control knob for the gear selector.

The Range Rover Velar will ride on the IQ lightweight aluminium platform that currently underpins the Jaguar F-Pace. At launch, engine options will include the familiar Ford-built V6 units currently offered in other family models, but later, Ingenium six-cylinder petrol and diesel units will swap them. Additionally, a plug-in hybrid version of the 295 bhp Ingenium four-cylinder petrol engine is expected.
