Could be priced between INR 7 and 9 lakh (ex-showroom).
Maruti Suzuki has confirmed that the Maruti Baleno RS, as a report said earlier this month, will launch on 3 March 2017. The Baleno RS will mark the company's entry into the hot-hatch segment.
The Maruti Baleno RS should have nearly the same dimensions as the standard Maruti Baleno, which measures 3,995 mm in length, 1,745 mm in width and 1,510 mm in height. The wheelbase should be the same - 2,520 mm. The exterior styling changes may include modified bumpers, unique mesh grille and distinctive black alloy wheels. On the inside, expect an all-black interior, with the seat covers featuring RS logo.
The Maruti Baleno RS will be powered by the K10C 1.0-litre BOOSTERJET turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine that produces 75 kW (100.54 hp) at 5,500 rpm and 150 Nm of torque between 1,700 and 4,500 rpm. This new engine, which will make its Indian debut in the car, will be paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. In this configuration, the car has a kerb weight of 950 kg.
