The new Honda scooter said to be launched in the next few days is the expected to be the BSIV version of the Honda Activa.

In its first year, the Honda Activa had a 102 cc mill and clocked 55,000 units. Their first million unit sales milestone came in 2005, 55 months after the launch. The exponential growth continued, and in July 2016 Honda marked their highest 2.5 lakh units of Honda Activa sold in a month.

The Honda Activa 3G is presently powered by a BSIII compliant 109.2 cc air cooled mill which is capable of producing 8 bhp of maximum power at 7,500 rpm and 8.83 Nm of peak torque at 5,500 rpm. Thanks to a V-matic transmission, the scooter can reach a claimed top speed of 82 kmph.

The Honda Activa 3G also gets Combined Brake System (CBS) and tubeless tyres. It tips the scales at 108 kg. The BSIV variant of the scooter will also gain the Auto Headlamp On (AHO) feature. Based on how Honda has been reworking on its motorcycle line-up, the Activa-i and the Activa 125 too will be updated to meet BSIV norms and roll out in a phased manner.
