Honda CB Shine reaches 50 lakh sales milestone, 2017 Honda CB Shine SP teased

The Honda CB Shine came to the market in 2006.

Last week HMSI announced that the Honda CB Shine had crossed the 50 lakh units sales milestone.

The 2017 Honda CB Shine gains a BSIV compliant engine and AHO, along with a few cosmetic changes.

The Honda CB Shine was also updated to meet the upcoming BSIV emission norms this month. The bike’s engine is the same 124.73 cc air cooled unit which pairs to a 4-speed gearbox. The engine is capable of producing 10.16 bhp at 7,500 rpm and 10.30 Nm of peak torque at 5,500 rpm.

The 2017 Honda CB Shine also gains Auto Headlamp On (AHO) feature. The 50th lakh unit was rolled out from the Tapukara facility in Rajasthan.

The Honda CB Shine hit the 10 lakh mark in 54 months (October 2010). Another 20 lakh customers were added in 41 months (April 2014) with the final 20 lakhs coming in just 32 months (January 2017).

Honda has started teasing the Honda Shine SP as well, which will be getting a similar facelift.

Honda is now preparing for the launch of the 2017 Honda CB Shine SP and has started teasing the bike on social media.
