The 2017 Suzuki Wagon R and 2017 Suzuki Wagon R Stingray have been officially unveiled in Japan and are now on sale in the country from 10,78,920 (INR 6,44,036.38) and 12,93,840 (INR 7,72,327.91) respectively.

The all-new Suzuki Wagon R and Suzuki Wagon R Stingray are underpinned by light and rigid new-generation "HEARTECT" platform that forms the basis for the 2017 Suzuki Swift as well. The car measures 3,395 mm in length, 1,475 mm in width and 1,650 mm in height, and have a wheelbase of 2,460 mm.

The 2017 Suzuki Wagon R is available in three grades: FA, Hybrid FX and Hybrid FZ. The base FA grade is powered by the R06A 0.66-litre three-cylinder petrol engine that produces 38 kW (52 PS) at 6,500 rpm and 60 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. The Hybrid FX and Hybrid FZ grades get the WA05A electric motor in conjunction with this petrol engine, tuned to generate 2.3 kW (3.1 PS) at 1,000 rpm and 50 Nm of torque.

The 2017 Suzuki Wagon R Stingray is offered in L, Hybrid X and Hybrid T trim levels. The L trim level is powered by the R06A 0.66-litre three-cylinder petrol engine that produces 38 kW (52 PS) at 6,500 rpm and 60 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. The Hybrid X trim level gets this engine paired to the WA05A electric motor that generates 2.3 kW (3.1 PS) at 1,000 rpm and 50 Nm of torque. The top-end Hybrid T trim level gets a similar package as the Hybrid T trim level, but its R06A combustion engine is a turbocharged one, delivering 47 kW (64 PS) at 6,000 rpm and 98 Nm of torque at 3,000 rpm.

Option for four-wheel drive is available in across the range, and the most fuel efficient trim levels (Wagon R: Hybrid FX, Wagon R Stingray: Hybrid X) have a fuel economy rating of 33.4 km/l (JC08 test cycle).

Noteworthy features of the 2017 Suzuki Wagon R are, LED (low beam) headlamps, 14-inch aluminium wheels, engine push-start button, head-up display, heated front seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel with tilt adjust, console-mounted CVT and touchscreen infotainment system. The 2017 Suzuki Wagon R Stingray is equipped with LED (high beam and low) headlamps, LED position lamps, LED front fog lamps, 15-inch aluminium wheels, heated door mirror, heated front seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel with tilt adjust, head-up display and touchscreen infotainment system.
