Yamaha FZ 25's engine boasts best in class torque output

The Yamaha FZ 25 is being marketed as an upgrade for Yamaha FZ 2.0 riders.

With day to day riding in mind, the Yamaha FZ 25 aims to provide accessible performance in the low and mid range from its 249 cc mill which produces 20.9 PS of maximum power and 20 Nm of peak torque.

At the heart of the Yamaha FZ 25 is a 249 cc, single cylinder 2 valve, SOHC engine which is capable of producing 20.9 PS of power and 20 Nm of torque. The air cooled engine is assisted by an oil cooler and is coupled to a 5-speed gearbox. The engine gets Blue Core technology which is next generation engine development platform which will take riding enjoyment, fuel efficiency and environment performance to an all-new level. It increases the combustion and cooling efficiency, thereby reducing power loss.

Yamaha claims a fuel efficiency rating of 43 kmpl which is really commendable for a quarter litre motorcycle. The Yamaha FZ 25 has been fine tuned for typical Indian riding conditions which include a mix of fast paced, slow as well as bad roads. It is also the only quarter litre bike in the country to sport LED headlamp and LED taillamp.

The digital instrumentation includes a speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, odometer, two trip meters, fuel reserve trip meter, a clock, instant fuel economy and average fuel economy. The speedometer in the Yamaha FZ 25 claims excellent precision. The tried and tested mill has been sourced from the Japanese market which will mean that the bike will be niggle free. The low kerb weight and diamond frame too have been fine tuned for usage in India.

The quick rev builds up the character of the Yamaha FZ 25, which has been engineered to deliver outstanding performance. The bike is light and agile, making it an ideal city slicker and responds well to aggressive rider inputs.
