TVS Akula 310 is a tribute to their more than the three-decade-old racing team.
Set to be its first fully faired motorcycle, the production TVS Akula 310 has once again been spotted in a YouTube video by Ashish Akhii.
At the heart of the TVS Akula 310, the production version of which might be called TVS Apache RTR 300, will be the same single cylinder mill from the BMW G310R. In the German naked roadster, which will also be built at TVs' production facility, the engine is coupled to a 6-speed gearbox.
The 313 cc liquid cooled powertrain is capable of producing 34 hp of maximum power at 9,500 rpm and 28 Nm of peak torque at 7,500 rpm. It is not clear whether the TVS Akula 310 will get the same tune or not.
The bike gets premium components like an upside down forks up front, devil horn-shaped tail lamp, and twin headlamps (possibly projectors). The concept model at the Auto Expo was an all-out track-centric bike, but the production version will be more road-centric. The riding position, as seen from the video, again confirms that the motorcycle will have a somewhat upright seating.
The TVS Akula 310 is expected to be launch before April 2017 and could be priced at around INR 2 lakhs.
