Hyundai could introduce a facelift in 2018.

Motor Trend India reports that a facelift for the Hyundai Creta will not be coming to India for now. It was earlier rumoured to launch this year with design elements sourced from the Brazil-spec Hyundai Creta.

The Creta facelift was earlier rumoured to borrow design elements from the Brazil-spec Hyundai Creta

The report states that the current iteration sold in India is performing well in the market, and Hyundai is concentrating on launching facelifts for the Grand i10 and Xcent duo as well as working on the next generation Hyundai Verna, which is expected to arrive in H2 2017.

A facelift is more likely to be introduced in 2018, when the Creta completes 3 years in its product lifecycle. It's unclear if the facelifted Creta will look identical to the Brazil-spec model, or feature unique design elements, since Motor Trend India states that the styling of the Brazil-spec Creta loses some of the SUV toughness seen in the current Creta, which may not appeal to some buyers.

Another report suggests that the Hyundai Creta will get a mild-hybrid system in 2018, which could be equipped in the 1.6 CRDi diesel variant of the facelifted model.
