Special edition model gets sportier exterior and upgraded tech.
Ford is showcasing the Ford EcoSport Platinum Edition at the Surat International Auto Expo 2017. The special edition was introduced at the Autocar Performance Show 2017 last month and could be the last update to the current EcoSport before the facelift arrives.
The Ford EcoSport Platinum Edition gets a black roof, new 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels with wider tyres, and (front and rear) bumper applique. The Platinum Edition model is based on the top-end Titanium trim level, but instead of this trim level's Ford SYNC system, it features a new 8-inch colour touchscreen infotainment system with satellite navigation and DVD playback.
The Ford EcoSport Platinum Edition is available with the 1.5-litre TDCi engine and the 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine. The 1.5-litre diesel engine produces 100 PS (73.8 kW) at 3,750 rpm and 205 Nm of torque at 1,750-3,250 rpm. The 1.0-litre petrol engine develops 112 PS (82 kW) at 6,300 rpm and 140 Nm of torque at 4,400 rpm. Both engines link to a 5-speed manual transmission. The diesel model delivers 22.27 km/l mileage, and the petrol model has a fuel economy rating of 18.88 km/l (ARAI certified).
