Production-spec model to premiere in 2018.

Following its debut at the NAIAS 2017 as a concept car, Shoeb Kalania has rendered the Audi Q8 in production guise. The SUV coupe arrives on the market next year slotting above the Audi Q7.

The Q8 previews a new SUV coupe that will slot above the Audi Q7.

The production Audi Q8 will keep most design elements of the concept. The biggest grille in the family directly flanked by sleek headlamps with an 'X' motif, frameless doors, a full-length stoplight design, massively flared fenders and a raked C-pillar inspired by the Audi Quattro rally car give it the character of a flagship SUV. The show car's 'Bombay Blue' could also be the communication colour of the production vehicle.

By replacing buttons with touch-sensitive icons on a screen, the interior is simplified. The Q8's interior offers a hint at the next-gen Audi A8's cockpit as well, with Level 4 Autonomy, the most advanced autonomous tech in the business, also promised for the SUV next year.

The Q8 concept's 333-hp 3.0-liter V6 turbo engine combined with a 134-hp motor housed within an eight-speed automatic transmission could also be a part of the production car.

The concept, capable of sprinting from 0-100 km/h in 5.4 seconds, hits an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h. It offers 60 km of all-electric driving range and the battery, placed at the rear-end of the vehicle, charges in approximately 2.5 hours.
