Facelifted model now on sale in Germany.
Mercedes-Benz gave a facelift to its smallest SUV, the Mercedes GLA, at the 2017 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Here’s how the 2017 Mercedes GLA visually differs from the 2014 Mercedes GLA.
On the outside, the Mercedes GLA received a moderate revision with the facelift. Changes include modified bumpers, soft LED headlights which replace the previous bi-xenon ones, redesigned grille, round fog lamps which replace the faux air intakes and tweaked taillights. Various optimisations made on the outside have lowered the drag coefficient from 0.29 Cd to 0.28 Cd. The exterior colour choices have increased with the addition of “canyon beige” colour.
The mid-cycle update has not brought significant changes inside the Mercedes GLA. There are new seat covers and trims, the nozzle rings are accentuated more strongly now, and the instrument cluster updated with a new number design, 30 km/h stages in the speedometer and new needles with a black needle centre. Keyless entry and a 360-degree camera are now available.
The 2017 Mercedes GLA range includes a new engine model called GLA 220 4MATIC. Rest of the range includes GLA 180 (petrol), GLA 200 (petrol), GLA 250 (petrol), GLA 250 4MATIC, Mercedes-AMG GLA 45 4MATIC (petrol), GLA 180 d (diesel), GLA 200 d (diesel), GLA 200 d 4MATIC (diesel), GLA 220 d (diesel) and GLA 220 d 4MATIC (diesel). Under its bonnet, is a 2.0-litre petrol engine good for 135 kW (184 hp) and 300 Nm of torque. The new Mercedes GLA is now on sale in Germany and should reach India later this year.
