The model debuted in Thailand this month.

The facelifted Honda City was launched in Thailand earlier this month, and its Indian launch is understood to be just around the corner.

Reports on the web this week say that Delhi dealerships started accepting bookings for the 2017 Honda City, which reportedly will be called the Honda City ZX. Official bookings should commence in a few days, with the car already in dealer lots. The facelifted model features new LED headlamps with new LED daytime running lights, redesigned chrome grille, revised lower grille, modified bumpers and new 16-inch alloy wheels. There's also a new Cosmic Blue colour available, borrowed from the Honda Civic.

It suffices to say that the 2017 Honda City's interior will not witness big changes. The Thai-spec version gets an all-black interior with contrasting dark gun-metal trim on the dashboard, gloss black garnish on the centre console and bright silver accents. Speed-sensing auto door lock, tilt and telescopic steering adjustment, cruise control, LED cabin lights, audio system with a 6.8-inch touchscreen and a new reverse parking camera are the interior highlights of the new Honda City.

The 2017 Honda City ZX will continue with the 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol and 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine options. The petrol engine produces 119 PS at 6,600 rpm and 145 Nm of torque at 4,600 rpm and is paired to a 5-speed manual transmission or a continuously variable transmission depending on the grade. The diesel engine develops 100 PS at 3,600 rpm and 200 Nm of torque at 1,750 rpm and is linked to a 6-speed manual transmission.
