Yamaha at the ongoing Thai Motor Expo also showcased the MT-03 and MT-10. Both motorcycles are already sold in Thailand.
Yamaha MT-03
The Yamaha MT-03 is the naked version of the Yamaha R3. It carries the sporty design philosophy seen in the MT-07 and MT-09. Housed in the diamond frame chassis is a 321 cc parallel twin machine coupled to a 6 speed gearbox. It is capable of delivering 42 PS of maximum power at 10,750 rpm and 29.6 Nm of peak torque at 9,000 rpm.
The Yamaha MT-03, as in the R3, gets 41 mm standard telescopic forks. It measures 2,090 mm in length, 745 mm in width and has an overall height of 1,035mm. The seat height is 780 mm and the ground clearance is 160 mm. The bike tips the scales at 168 kg and gets ABS as standard.
The Yamaha MT-03 retails in Thailand at an asking price of 177,000 Thai baht.
Yamaha MT-10
The Yamaha MT-10 is based on the Japanese brand’s flagship sportsbike, the Yamaha R1. with the perfect mix of power, torque and agility. Housed in a lightweight aluminium deltabox frame is a 998 cc crossplane four cylinder engine coupled to a 6 speed gearbox. The engine is good for 160.4 PS of maximum power at 11,500 rpm and 111 Nm of peak torque at 9,000 rpm. The bike tips the scales at 210 kg.
Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle, adjustable cruise control, traction control, quick shifter (only upshifts) and an assist and slipper clutch are some if its key features. Unlike the R1, the Yamaha MT-10 gets an upright seating position, and it retails at 619,000 Thai baht.
