The Bajaj Dominar 400 aims to slay the common notion of motorcycling which warrants that performance and comfort do not go hand in hand. That is what sports cruisers are all about. The Dominar 400 wants to do it without putting a hole in your pocket. The biggest motorcycle by Bajaj yet (in terms of capacity) has a booking amount of INR 9,000, and has been priced at INR 136,000 for the non-ABS version and INR 150,000 for the ABS trim.
The stance has been inspired from a lion stalking its prey. The head translates to the LED headlamp which gets Auto Headlamp On (AHO) feature while the seat and the fuel tank resemble the back of a lion, and rounding off the essence is the short exhaust and LED taillamps which form the tail. The Bajaj Dominar 400 gets a premium three coat, chip resistant paint with a deep gloss finish.
Made of precision pressed high strength steel, the frame of the Bajaj Dominar 400 provides the bike with the lowest possible centre of gravity along with torsional rigidity and lateral strength. Coupled to the frame are a 43 mm hydraulically damped forks up front and a 77 mm diameter dual spring mono shock in the rear.

The 373.3 cc single-cylinder triple spark mill sourced from the KTM Duke 390, with suitable modifications, is coupled to a 6 speed gearbox and gets a slipper clutch to provide seamless gearshifts at all engine revs. The engine is capable of delivering a maximum power output of 35 PS along with a peak torque of 35 Nm. Thanks to the this tuning, Bajaj boasts of a top speed of 148 kmph and a gradability of 14 degrees.
Anchors are provided by a 320 mm disc in the front and a 230 mm disc in the rear, both of which have been sourced from Bybre. ABS is an optional extra.
Bookings have commenced online for INR 9,000 while deliveries will begin in January 2017.
