The second generation CX-5 is now available to order in Japan and its deliveries will commence on 2 February, 2017. Mazda aims to sell 2,500 units of the all-new CX-5 monthly in the domestic market.
The 2017 Mazda CX-5 is available in 20S, 20S Proactive, 25S, 25S Proactive, 25S L Package, XD, XD Proactive and XD L Package grades, with prices starting at JPY 24,62,400 (INR 14,12,209.39). Three engine models are available to choose from: SKYACTIV-G 2.0 petrol, SKYACTIV-G 2.5 petrol and SKYACTIV-D 2.2 clean diesel. These engine models have fuel economy ratings (in JC08 test cycle) as high as 16.0 km/l, 14.8 km/l and 18.0 km/l respectively.
The 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine produces 114 kW (155 PS) at 6,000 rpm and 196 Nm of torque. The 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine develops 140 kW (190 PS) at 6,000 rpm and 251 Nm of torque at 3,250 rpm. The 2.2-litre four-cylinder diesel engine delivers 129 kW (175 PS) at 4,500 rpm and 420 Nm of torque at 2,000 rpm. The 6-speed SKYACTIV-DRIVE automatic transmission is standard across the range. The 2.5-litre petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines can be had with an all-wheel drive system.

The 2017 Mazda CX-5's list of appealing exterior features includes LED headlamps with integrated LED signature lights, LED tail lamps with integrated LED signature lights, heated door mirrors, 19-inch wheels and roof spoiler. Inside, the new generation model is equipped with advanced features like 4.6-inch colour display for the instrument cluster, Active Driving Display head-up display, cruise control, electric parking brake and 7-inch infotainment system. Eight exterior colour choices are available, including the new Soul Red Crystal.
