One of the four new Skodas arriving in India next year.
Skoda has been selling Monte Carlo edition cars in the European markets for years, and has finally decided to offer one in India.
According to a report from Autocar India, Skoda India will launch Monte Carlo edition of the new Skoda Rapid (facelift) in a few months. Besides the Rapid Monte Carlo, the company will launch the Octavia Black Edition, Octavia RS and Kodiaq by end of next year.
A speculative rendering based on the Euro-spec Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo is seen above. The Indian-spec Rapid Monte Carlo is expected to feature black radiator grille, black door mirror caps, alloy wheels, bootlid spoiler, roof, and bumper and skirt extensions.
Inside, the Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo should feature an all-black interior theme, leather seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel and stainless steel pedals. Additionally, there could be a new infotainment system with in-built satellite navigation.

The Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo isn't likely to get upgrades for performance. While the 77 kW (105 PS) 1.6-litre MPI naturally aspirated petrol and 81 kW (110 PS) 1.5-litre TDI turbocharged diesel engines are obvious, employing the VW Vento's 77 kW (105 PS) 1.2-litre TSI turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine would make the Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo more of a novelty.
The Rapid Monte Carlo is a permanently selling variant in Europe, but it remains to be seen if India also gets it that way or as a limited edition.
