The new generation Toyota Fortuner has received more than 5,400 bookings and 16,000 enquiries.

The launch of the Fortuner was delayed by TKM due to the interim ban on registration of diesel vehicles with an engine displacement greater than 2,000 cc in the national capital, and the uncertainly in demand for diesel SUVs in metros.

When the SUV was finally launched on November 7, it was priced between INR 25.92 lakhs and 31.12 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). Currently some customers are asked to wait 2 months for delivery.

N Raja, Director and Sr Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Toyota India said:

We are overwhelmed with the response that the new Fortuner has garnered in just two weeks’ time since its launch. We have noticed a significant customer preference towards the automatic transmission and trying our best to deliver the product to the customer at the earliest so that they don’t have to wait too long. We are glad that the new Fortuner has been able to make such an impact even after the festive period is over.
