Based on the BMW G 310 R tourer.
BMW Motorrad has unveiled the dual-sport version of the BMW G 310 R - the BMW G 310 GS - at the ongoing EICMA 2016 in Milan, Italy. It is the second BMW Motorrad product from the BMW-TVS partnership.
Although it's based on the BMW G 310 R, upon first glance, the G 310 GS looks like a mini R 1200 GS. It features dynamic half-fairings, ‘GS’ moniker plastered on the fuel tank, long-travel suspension with gold-painted inverted forks, on/off-road tires, and a new rear-end with provision to mount luggage. The GS has a low unladen weight of 169.5 kilograms.
Powering the G 310 GS is the G 310 R’s 313 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine paired to a six-speed transmission. The fuel-injected engine produces 34 hp and 28 Nm of torque, which is identical to its tourer sibling. It comes with dual-channel ABS as standard.
The BMW G 310 GS will be made by TVS Motor in India at its Hosur facility. It will likely share assembly lines with the BMW G 310 R and the TVS Akula 310 (TVS’s fully-faired version of the G310R).
