Could be unveiled next year.
The Mitsubishi ASX was given a facelift last year and while customers worldwide drive home this new model, the company is testing a totally revamped, new generation ASX which is expected to be unveiled next year. Carview has published a rendering to preview this fully redesigned model in production guise.
The Japanese publication has apparently created the rendering on the basis of the Mitsubishi Concept XR-PHEV II and incorporated changes from details seen in the recent spy shots of the all-new model. A few details do not match with what's seen in the spy shots, like the ORVM, but overall the render is accurate.
Recent spy shots have revealed that the fourth generation ASX gets a redesigned instrument panel and centre console and repositioned central HVAC vents among other changes.

Besides conventional petrol and diesel engines, the next-gen Mitsubishi ASX may be offered with a plug-in hybrid powertrain as well. More details are bound to trickle in as we near the vehicle's reveal.
With Nissan now holding a 34% controlling stake in the Mitsubishi, the 2018 Mitsubishi ASX may be one of the company's last global models to be developed completely in-house.
