All-new Jeep Wrangler arriving next year, followed by a pickup.
The fourth-gen Jeep Wrangler is arriving next year, and will be followed by a pickup based on it. Here are speculative renderings originally published on JLwranglerforums.com, created based on spy shots, incorporating changes mentioned by insiders and reports.
The next-gen Jeep Wrangler will feature an evolutionary design, and retain the boxy shape, round headlights, seven-slot grille and trapezoidal wheel arches. It will be underpinned by a new body-on-frame platform. Engine options at launch may include an upgraded version of the 3.6-liter Pentastar naturally aspirated V6 and the new 2.0-liter Hurricane turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline units in the U.S. market.
The Jeep Wrangler-based pickup is already undergoing road testing. Underpinned by the same new body-on-frame platform, FCA’s new pickup could be offered with the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 and 2.0-liter Hurricane four-cylinder gasoline engines as well as a turbo-diesel engine.
The 2018 Jeep Wrangler and the pickup based on in it will be produced in Toledo, Ohio in the USA. It has been reported that the former will debut in the first half of 2017 and the latter will be introduced in early 2018.
