Expected to go on sale in early 2017.
A photograph of scantily disguised examples of the 2017 Kia Picanto were posted by Ferd Fanpage, giving a first look at its side profile. The third generation Kia Picanto is expected to go on sale in early 2017 in markets like South Korea, Europe and the Middle East.
The side profile looks a lot similar to the Euro-spec Hyundai i10, a car that the Kia Picanto is based on. Although the front-end is covered up, older spyshots have revealed that it gets a larger radiator grille with rounded edges, wider ‘tiger-nose’ grille, bug-eyed LED projector headlamps with LED DRLs and foglamps with projector lenses, while the rear-end features heavily detailed C-shaped LED taillamps.
The interior has been spied in a previous instance, featuring a new three-spoke multifunction steering wheel with silver garnish, redesigned floating dashboard design with horizontal HVAC vents, new instrument cluster with a larger multi-info display, larger glass area, bigger headrests and redesigned buttons, knobs and dials. Top-end variants could feature a new touchscreen infotainment system.

Along with the side profile, the new Picanto will also source the petrol engine lineup from the Hyundai i10, which includes a base 65 bhp 1.0L three-cylinder and 85 bhp 1.25L four-cylinder petrol engine. A 5-speed manual gearbox is likely standard in both variants, while a torque converter automatic gearbox will be optional.
