Will be one of the first products in Lexus India's portfolio.
After a photograph of a Lexus RC-F surfaced from Chennai, Car and Bike has managed to acquire images of the Lexus RX compact SUV on Indian soil for the first time. The RX is likely to be one of the first products in Lexus India's portfolio. Toyota's luxury arm is expected to commence sales in India early next year.
As the spyshots reveal, Lexus will launch the RX in its 450h hybrid variant in India. The same variant sold in other markets is powered by a 3.5L V6 engine paired to an electric motor that produces 308 hp. The engine is paired with an Electronically controlled Continuously Variable Transmission (ECVT) and AWD system. It is capable of sprinting from 0-100 km/h in around 7.9 seconds.
Other models in the portfolio include the Lexus ES sedan and the flagship Lexus LX SUV (based on the Toyota Land Cruiser). Although the Lexus RC-F was photographed in India, it's unclear if the 2-door BMW M4-rival is part of local product lineup.

Initially, Lexus products will be sold only through two dealerships located in Mumbai and Delhi, before more showrooms pop up across India. All the models will be imported via the CBU route, so don't expect Lexus to price their products as competitively as their respective locally-assembled German rivals.
