Volkswagen has released a teaser video of the upcoming VW Teramont (name TBC) giving the vehicle's first driving impressions. The company has even revealed a few details about the Teramont in the teaser video.
The VW Teramont is the production version of the VW CrossBlue concept that was unveiled at the 2013 North American International Motor Show (2013 NAIAS). It measures 5.04 metres in length, which makes it 5 cm longer than the CrossBlue concept (4.99 metres). Also increased from the concept, is the seating capacity, from six to seven.

As expected, the VW Teramont will be available with a 2.0-liter TSI gasoline engine as well as a V6 gasoline engine in North America. The 2.0-liter TSI four-cylinder gasoline engine produces 238 hp, while the 3.6-liter V6 gasoline engine delivers 280 hp. The latter could be the same FSI direct fuel injection unit employed in the VW Passat (NMS).

The VW Teramont is expected to have its world premiere at the 2016 LA Auto Show in November and has been confirmed to enter production at the Volkswagen Chattanooga plant in the state of Tennessee, USA later this year. The company has confirmed that the VW Teramont will go on sale in North America in Spring 2017 (March-June 2017). The Chinese-spec VW Teramont will be built by the SAIC-Volkswagen joint venture.
