Will arrive in showrooms in Spring 2017.
The second generation Peugeot 5008 has been photographed by AutoHome at the 2016 Paris Motor Show venue, ahead of its debut scheduled tomorrow. It will start selling in Europe in Spring 2017 (March - June).
The new 5008 drops the MPV styling of the outgoing model for the look of a large 7-seat SUV. The design is influenced by Peugeot's latest design philosophy, which was first seen in the Peugeot 3008 SUV. It's quite hard to tell that it's a replacement to the 5008 MPV, until you see the badge at the rear.
Inside, the 5008 features the 'i-Cockpit' similar to the new 3008. The dashboard is designed around the driver with the center console and its controls noticeably angled. One of the main highlights of i-Cockpit is the 12.3-inch high-res driver screen that can display sat-nav, music info or conventional instrument dials. On the low-set dashboard is an eight-inch freestanding touchscreen, ‘piano key’ switches for various functions and a new gear selector beside the Grip Control terrain selector and electronic parking brake.
The 3008 will be offered with a wide variety of engine and gearbox combinations, which include 1.2L PureTech petrol, 1.6L PureTech petrol, 1.6L BlueHDi diesel and 2.0L BlueHDi diesel. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic.
