In South America, the 2017 Jeep Compass will be powered by 2.0-liter petrol and diesel engines.

The 2017 Jeep Compass measures 4.41 meter in length, 1.81 meter in width, 1.64 meter in height and 2.63 meter in wheelbase; the top-end Trailhawk variant tips the scale at 1,751 kg. Jeep has reportedly shared parts and components with the Jeep Renegade, though in the 2017 Compass, the structure is 70 percent stiffer thanks to the use of HSS (high-strength steel).

Though Jeep has announced 17 different engine and gearbox combinations for the 2017 Compass, for the South American market, the Hyundai Tucson-rivaling SUV will come with a 2.0-liter Tigershark Flex-fuel petrol engine and a 2.0-liter Multijet II diesel engine.
