Renault enters Nepal with India-made Renault Kwid, Renault Duster

Auto Life Nepal reports that French car manufacturer Renault will commence sales operations in Nepal this month, and have chosen Advanced Automobiles Pvt Ltd as their authorized distributor.

Nepal is one of the first export markets to receive Renault's A-segment hatchback.

The initial product lineup will comprise of the Renault Kwid and Renault Duster, for which prices will be announced on August 30. It will be manufactured and exported to Nepal by Renault India. As far as the Kwid is considered, Nepal is one of the first few export markets to receive Renault's A-segment hatchback.

The Kwid is likely to be offered with two engine options: .8L and 1L three-cylinder petrol. The former produces 54 hp and 72 Nm of torque, while the latter outputs 68 hp and 91 Nm of torque. Both will be paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard.

The Renault Duster in India is available in both petrol and diesel variants. The former packs a 1.6-litre petrol engine paired to a five-speed manual gearbox, and the latter is powered by a 1.5-litre diesel available in two power states: 85 PS and 110 PS. Other than a manual gearbox, the 110 PS diesel variant of the Duster is available with the 6-speed Easy-R AMT.
