India-bound 2016 Honda Accord Hybrid launched in Thailand

Honda has launched the 2016 Honda Accord Hybrid in Thailand. Available in two variants: Accord Hybrid and Accord Hybrid Tech, it is priced from 1,659,000 baht (INR 31.8 Lakhs) and 1,849,000 baht (INR 35.45 Lakhs), respectively.

The Accord Hybrid in Thailand is available in two grades: Accord Hybrid and Accord Hybrid Tech

The Accord Hybrid packs a 2.0L Atkinson Cycle i-VTEC 4-cylinder engine combined with two electric motors powered by an ultra-high 1.3 kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery that offers better electrical transmission and charging performance. It is capable of a maximum output of 215 hp and a fuel economy of 23.8 km/L with carbon emissions of only 99 gram/km.

As standard, the Thai-spec Accord Hybrid is equipped with Honda LaneWatch, 7.7 inch screen infotainment system, separate touchscreen with Apple CarPlay support, rearview camera, Active Cornering LED headlamps, Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System (AVAS), six airbags and Engine Remote Start. The Hybrid variant is distinguished from the regular Accord by the Clear Blue accented front grill as well as Hybrid badges.

As standard, the Thai-spec Accord Hybrid is equipped with Honda LaneWatch, 7.7 inch screen infotainment system, separate touchscreen with Apple CarPlay support, etc.

As for the Indian market, the ninth generation Honda Accord is expected to launch during this festive season. It will only be sold in Hybrid variant, which was showcased at the Auto Expo 2016 this February.
