Will rival the Datsun Go+.
The Toyota Calya has been spied testing in Indonesia yet again, courtesy Auto Plus Indonesia. The Toyota Calya is the Japanese automaker's new small MPV that will rival the Datsun Go+ in Indonesia. The new Low Cost Green Car will go on sale later this year.
The Toyota Calya is reportedly based on the Toyota Agya, which is also sold as the Daihatsu Ayla. The Toyota Calya will be first launched under the Daihatsu brand as the Daihatsu Sigra. The Toyota Calya will sit between the Toyota Agya and Toyota Avanza, and thus, the Daihatsu Sigra should be positioned between the Daihatsu Ayla and Daihatsu Xenia. The Daihatsu Sigra has already been unofficially revealed in leaked images, and will debut at 2016 GIIAS in August, reports state.
The Daihatsu Sigra, which was previewed by the Daihatsu UFC-3 concept in 2014, could be priced lower than the Toyota Calya. Being nearly identical in almost every aspect other than styling and equipment, the cars are identical in dimensions: 4,070 mm in length, 1,600 mm in width and 1,655 mm in height. The wheelbase and ground clearance of 2,525 mm and 180 mm respectively will also be the same.
