Priced from INR 2.68 Lakhs (ex-showroom) in India.
ET Auto reports that Renault has received 150,000 bookings for the Renault Kwid from local and export markets, since it was launched in September last year. Its sales performance in the market has raised Renault India's market share from 2.3 percent to 3.8 percent in H1 2016.
Renault has increased the production rate of the Kwid to 10,000 units per month, so as to reduce the waiting period for prospective customers in the local market as well as meet the demand from export markets. Renault India will soon commence export of Kwid CKD kits to Brazil, where it's expected to launch later this year.
In the second half of the year, Renault will introduce 1L and 1L AMT variants, which will likely come equipped with features like dual airbags and ABS. The company has not divulged the performance figures of the Renault Kwid 1.0L, and could do so closer to its launch date.

The Renault Kwid’s success in the market can be attributed to its rugged look and highly competitive price, thanks to the CMF platform's 98 percent localization (which is one of the highest for a new car). It features a digital instrument cluster and a 7-inch MEDIANAV touchscreen system.
