Will be unveiled in late-September.
The Jeep 551 has been spied by Autos Segredos reader Marcello Oliveira. The new spyshots, along with a close look at some elements of the exterior, also partially show the interior of Jeep 551.
The Jeep 551's headlamps apparently feature LED signature lights and seem to be very similar to those of the Jeep Grand Cherokee. On the sides, there are 17-inch wheels shod with 225/60 tyres. Inside, the Jeep 551 shares some elements with other Jeep/FCA models. For instance, the steering wheel is apparently borrowed from the Jeep Renegade. The instrument panel appears to be embellished with chrome/aluminium trim, and the infotainment system is flanked by vertical HVAC vents.
Based on the Fiat 500X and the Jeep Renegade‘s small-wide front-wheel drive platform, the Jeep 551 will be a C-segment (5-seater) model targeted aggressively at global markets along with those in North America. Thus, Jeep will have a right-hand drive version too. Also referred to as the Jeep C-SUV, the Jeep 551 has been confirmed to be made in Brazil (starting late-September 2016), Mexico (starting January 2017) and India (2017).

The Brazilian-spec Jeep 551 will be offered with a 2.0-litre Tigershark flex-fuel (petrol-ethanol) engine that produces 159 cv (159 hp) at 6,200 rpm running on petrol or 164 cv (164 hp) at 6,000 rpm running on ethanol, as well as a 2.0-litre MultiJet II diesel engine. The diesel engine will be mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission.
