The new hatchback under development in Brazil, internally known as the 'Fiat X6H', will be brought to the market with a new brand name, as the 'Punto' nameplate is unlikely to get a successor.
In the latest, the Fiat X6H has been spied in Brazil by Autos Segredos reader Renato Uchikawa. The Brazilian publication speculates the engineering mule being tested by either the car's parts' suppliers Bosch or Magneti Marelli, not by Fiat. Furthermore, its report states that the Fiat X6H will hit the markets only in 2017, not later this year. The Fiat X6H will be based on a stretched and an updated version of the Fiat 326 platform.
The Fiat X6H will have a sedan version also, which is internally known as the 'Fiat X6S'. This model has been speculated to be the next-gen Fiat Linea. Fiat isn't done with just a sedan derivative, it will introduce a pickup truck also based on the new B-segment hatchback's platform, currently known under the codename 'Fiat X6P'.

According to the new report, the Fiat X6H will be offered with the new 1.3-litre GSE engine producing maximum power and maximum torque of over 100 hp and around 14 kgf-m (137.29 Nm) respectively, as well as the new 1.8-litre E.torQ EVO engine from the Fiat Toro. The GSE engine will be offered with 5-speed manual and 5-speed automatic transmissions and the E.torQ EVO engine will be available with 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmissions. At a later date, a performance variant will be introduced with the 1.3 16v GSE Turbo engine expected to produce over 150 CV (150 hp).
