A launch will not take place this calendar year in India.
Mr. Gary Guthrie, president, Two-Wheel Tyre Division, Michelin, announced earlier this month that the company is working with manufacturers to co-develop tyres, and confirmed that the forthcoming BMW G310R will ride on factory-fitted Michelin rubber.
The BMW G310R, the first product from the TVS-BMW Motorrad joint venture, will ride on 110/70 R17 tyre up front and a 150/60 R17 tyre at the rear.
Power for the naked street-fighter will come from a 313 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 34 PS at 9,500 and peak torque of 28 Nm at 7,500 rpm. The four-valve engine is paired to a six-speed gearbox. As standard, the BMW G310R gets disc brakes at both ends and ABS, and tips the scale at 158.5 kg. BMW claims a top-speed of 143 km/h.
