Will be available in three body styles in Europe.

The Hyundai i30 currently on sale is the car’s second generation model, originally unveiled at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show (2011 IAA). The company is now working on the third generation Hyundai i30 and will unveil it at the 2016 Paris Motor Show in September, according to reports. Weeks ahead of the 2017 Hyundai i30’s world premiere in Paris, its test mule has been spied in USA by Autoweek reader Dave.

The next-gen Hyundai i30 has a distinctive front-end that further distances itself from the new generation Hyundai Elantra on which it is based.

The spyshots give a very clear look at the changes on the car’s front-end. Moving to its third generation, the Hyundai i30 is distancing itself even further from the 2016 Hyundai Elantra with a unique front fascia.

Moving to the sides, the all-new i30 features redesigned door mirrors with integrated turn indicators, flatter greenhouse embellished with chrome, and notably bigger quarter glass. Looking from the side, the all-new i30 looks shorter in height too. The rear-end features new taillamps with horizontal reflectors just inches below them, and twin exhaust tips. The overall styling suggests this could be the i30 Turbo. The all-new i30 will be available as a 5-door hatchback, a 5-door estate and a coupe.

The third-gen Hyundai i30 should be offered with the same engines and transmissions from the sixth-gen Hyundai Elantra on which it’s based. There will be a performance variant also, dubbed ‘Hyundai i30 N’ – the first model of the company’s new N performance sub-brand. It will be powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine and rival with the performance hatchbacks like the Ford Focus ST and the VW Golf GTI.
