The 2016 Hyundai Elantra has been spied yet again in India, this time by Team-BHP user virgovencat on the Chennai-Bangalore highway.
Two test mules were spotted on the highway, implying that Hyundai Motor India is probably testing out petrol and diesel variants of the sedan. Supporting this fact, are multiple import listings on Zauba from last few months.
The 2016 Hyundai Elantra will likely be offered in two engine models in India: 2.0 MPI and 1.6 VGT. The 2.0 MPI is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine producing 149 PS (146.90 hp) and 183 Nm of torque and the 1.6 VGT is 1.6-litre four-cylinder diesel engine producing 136 PS (134.09 hp) and 306 Nm of torque. Transmission choices should include 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic and 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. The 1.6-litre T-GDi turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine is highly unlikely to be offered though.
