Debut at the 2016 Paris Motor Show.
Skoda revealed the design of the Skoda Kodiaq in a new set of sketches this week. Penned by the design team led by Josef Kaban, the Kodiaq is the production version of the Skoda VisionS concept which will also serve as the design direction for future Skoda models like the Yeti.
The Skoda Kodiaq is the company’s first mid-size (D-segment) crossover. The VW group brand has confirmed that it will debut at the 2016 Paris Motor Show which opens for press on the 29th of September.
The Skoda Kodiaq will be based on the Volkswagen Group’s MQB platform, just like its upcoming German counterpart VW Tiguan XL. The former will be targeted largely at European markets, while the latter will serve customers in the USA.
The Skoda Kodiaq should go on sale in Europe by the end of 2016 or in early 2017. It’s expected to be offered with 2.0-litre TSI petrol and 2.0-litre TDI diesel engines.
The standard variant will reportedly be launched in India in 2017, probably in the second half of the year.
