Should go on sale towards the end of the year.

The 2017 Porsche Panamera's exterior was leaked yesterday in what seemed to be an official image put up on Porsche's website prematurely. Based on this official image, a speculative rendering from IAB's illustrator Shoeb Kalania gives the closest look at the production next-gen Porsche Panamera which is expected to debut at the 2016 Paris Motor Show.

The next-gen Porsche Panamera may have Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo concept-inspired taillights as possibly the most instantly notable change on the outside.

On the outside, the Porsche Panamera may appear to look unchanged from far; it's instantly recognizable as what it is. But looking up-close, subtle changes start appearing. The evolutionary redesign has brought changes like reshaped headlamps with updated four-LED daytime running lights, a sharper front bumper, two-bar grille which extends its styling to the restyled air inlets, reshaped air vents in the fender, smaller quarter glass and possibly Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo concept-inspired taillights.

The second generation Porsche Panamera will be based on the Volkswagen Group’s MSB (Modularer Standardantrieb-Baukasten) rear-wheel drive platform. The new generation model is expected to shed around 90 kg, and thus, likely to have considerably improved performance and efficiency. Turbocharged V6 and V8 engines as well as a plug-in hybrid powertrain will be on offer globally, in rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive drivetrain layout.
