Honda City based MPV to launch in Japan in August.
Based on spyshots and reports, IAB's Shoeb R Kalania has sketched the next generation Honda Freed, due for a launch in Japan this August, followed by Indonesia in early-2017.
The next generation Honda Freed adopts the 'Solid Wing face' design, sleek headlamps, sportier bumper with a larger intake, and a redesigned engine hood. Although not rendered, the rear-end will feature taillamps repositioned towards the D-pillar and a reprofiled bumper housing Christmas tree type reflectors and a roof spoiler. The next gen Honda Freed reportedly measures 4,250 mm long, 1,695 mm wide and 1,710 high.
Reports suggest that the 2016 Honda Freed will continue to offer a 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine equipped with direct injection at launch, while the rumored 1.0 Turbo variant will only arrive in 2021.

Honda will also offer a hybrid variant of the Honda Freed, which replaces the IMA (Integrated Motor Assist) system for their new i-DCD dual clutch hybrid system. It combines the 1.5-liter engine with an electric motor and a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
