Could launch in India later this year.
Motoroids has posted a gallery of spyshots featuring a Toyota Etios with its front and rear end covered up, suggesting that a facelift is in store for the company's entry level sedan. It could launch in India during the festive season of 2016.
Upon first glance, the front end of the new Etios has been facelifted for a contemporary look. The grille has been redesigned, where the sleek lines flow to form a V-shaped grille in the center with 4 slats and housing a Toyota logo. The bumper has also been redesigned, featuring re-designed intakes and fog lamp enclosures that look similar to the Toyota Vios.
Toyota's testers have also covered up certain portions of the rear end. Judging by the wrapped areas, it is expected to feature a chrome bar running between the taillamps and a slightly facelifted lower bumper.
Inside, the 2016 Toyota Etios is upholstered in a new fabric material, and the steering pad has been camouflaged to hide an updated design. It could feature a digital instrument cluster similar to the unit fitted in the Brazil-spec Etios.

It's unclear if any changes would be made to the engine lineup. The current Etios is available with a 1.5L petrol engine and the 1.4L diesel engine, which produces 90 PS/132 Nm of torque and 68 PS/170 Nm respectively. The only transmission option is a 5-speed manual gearbox.
