Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (HMIL) CEO, Mr. Young Key Koo, confirmed to Economic Times in an interview that the company will launch special editions on the Hyundai Grand i10 and Hyundai Xcent soon. He said that production of both these editions has commenced, and they will celebrate the company's 20th anniversary in India.
Mr. Koo said that the special edition Hyundai Xcent and Grand i10 will offer 30-40 percent extra feature benefits at no additional cost. Features are likely to include special body graphics, seat upholstery, floor mats, leather-wrapped gear-level and steering wheel and possibly a reverse camera.
The special editions will not see any changes to the mechanicals. Both cars, which are based on the same platform, are powered by either a 1.2-liter Kappa petrol engine or a 1.1-liter U2 CRDi diesel engine. The petrol gets the option of a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic whereas the diesel engine is only available with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
