Major interior upgrades in store for Ford's compact SUV.
Brazilian publication, Autos Segredos, has created a digital mockup of the 2017 Ford EcoSport (facelift) which is expected to launch in early-2017. Inline with earlier renderings and spyshots, this projection also uses the new Ford Edge as a design inspiration for the compact SUV.
Aside from the updated front fascia, the report states that the taillight elements will see changes, but the overall shape of the cluster will remain unaltered. Unlike the European market EcoSport which is offered without an external spare tyre, the Brazilian and the Indian model will continue offering this utility, given it adds to the butch appearance of the EcoSport.
On the inside, spyshots have shown that the EcoSport will get a massive revamp to its dashboard, steering and entertainment system. A new, slimmer, three-spoke steering wheel with integrated controls, an all-new larger instrument cluster, rectangular AC vents and an all-new entertainment system with a perched layout are among the changes observed.

Under the hood, from the Indian market perspective, the EcoSport facelift is expected to continue with the 1.5-liter four-cylinder TDCi and Ti-VCT diesel and petrol engines, and the 1.0-liter three-cylinder turbocharged EcoBoost petrol engine. The 1.5L Ti-VCT is available with a 6-speed Powershift transmission, whereas the other units are available only with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Production of the compact SUV will continue at the Chennai plant.
