Paultan has managed pictures of the 2016 Honda Civic and the outgoing Honda Civic (both ASEAN spec) side by side at its media drive in Thailand. This gives us a better look at the differences between the two mid-size sedans.
The exterior of the 2016 Honda Civic features an all-new design that not only appears to be bigger, but also more premium and dynamic than the outgoing model. The front-end features an upright nose with a bold “Flying H grille” flanked by optional LED headlamps. The lower bumper looks more aggressive with black accents, and houses foglamps on either side.
Stepping towards the side, the new Civic adopts a roofline that flows smoothly into the boot, and has a new C-Pillar design. The rear-end features new LED “boomerang” taillamps, sportier bumper, a sizeable spoiler (only in RS variant) and new sculpted features.
The 2016 Civic is 105 mm longer and 44 mm wider than the 2014 Honda Civic, as well as 19 mm lower in height (1,416 mm) for a sportier look. Honda also claims to have improved the aerodynamic efficiency by 12 percent to class-leading levels.

The engine lineup of the new Civic offers a 1.8L i-VTEC naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol unit that makes 141 hp & 174 Nm of torque and a 1.5L unit VTEC TURBO turbocharged four-cylinder petrol unit that makes 173 hp and 220 Nm of torque. The only transmission option is Honda's CVT with Earth Dreams technology.
Honda Cars India is, reportedly, considering the launch of the tenth generation Honda Civic, so that customers looking to upgrade from the Honda City in the coming years need not jump to another brand.
