Interior only previewed.
Volvo Cars China is showcasing the interior of the upcoming S90 Excellence at the Auto China 2016 in Beijing. It helps give an insight as to what customers can expect from the range-topping grade.
Like its bigger sibling, the XC90 Excellence, the S90 Excellence will lose the rear bench seat for two power-controlled individual seats divided by a flowing console upholstered in leather. The individual reclining seats offer massage, ventilation and increased legroom.
The interior also features Volvo's conceptual Lounge Console, which replaces the front passenger seat with a leg rest and a foldable table that houses a 12.9 inch iPad Pro tablet. Other creature comforts include a refrigerator with bottle, glass holders, heating/cooling cup holder and handmade crystal glasses sourced from Orrefors, passenger footrests, ambient lighting, 19-speaker Bowers and Wilkins audio system with an additional speaker between the rear seats, additional sound insulation.
The S90 Excellence is likely to be exclusive to the top-end T8 Twin Engine hybrid powertrain that generates 407 hp and 640 Nm from a combination of a 2.0L supercharged and turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine and an electric motor.
Volvo also showcased the regular S90 at the Auto China 2016. It's expected to launch later this year, and is likely to be manufactured at the company's new plant in Daqing, China. The Volvo S90 range comprises of four variants – T6 AWD, T8 AWD, D4 and D5, of which the former two variants will be available in the Chinese market.
