Will get closer to Euro-spec Skoda Rapid, design wise.
Skoda is giving yet another facelift to the Skoda Rapid in India. This time around though, there will be visual changes as well. A speculative rendering from IAB's artist Shoeb Kalania gives a preview of the upcoming 2016 Skoda Rapid's exterior. As seen in the rendering, the 2016 Skoda Rapid (facelift), gets a front-end inspired by that of Euro-spec Skoda Rapid which draws cues from the Skoda Mission L concept.
According to a report, the Skoda Rapid facelift will be launched in India in the second half of this year. The facelifted model will have a restyled front bumper, new headlamps, new grille design, new bonnet and restyled front fenders. Spyshots suggest that the rear-end will more or less remain unchanged.

The facelifted 2016 Skoda Rapid is expected to be offered with the same 1.6-litre MPI four-cylinder petrol and 1.5-litre TDI four-cylinder diesel engines, but their output and efficiency may be improved. Currently, the petrol unit produces 77 kW (105 PS/104 hp) and 153 Nm of torque and the diesel unit makes 77 kW (105 PS/104 hp) and 250 Nm of torque. The petrol engine is offered with 5-speed manual and 6-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission choices while the diesel engine is offered with 5-speed manual and 7-speed automatic transmission choices, and these will likely continue being unchanged post-facelift.
