Second CMF-A product, following the Renault Kwid.

The Datsun redi-GO will make its world premiere at an event in Delhi today. It is the Renault-Nissan Alliance's second product to ride on the CMF-A platform, following the Renault Kwid. Prices will be announced closer to its launch date later this year.

The exterior design is similar to the concept car from the Auto Expo 2014, which is an evolution of the styling seen in current models. Its rear-end features vertical taillamps, contoured tailgate and separate reflectors on the lower bumper.

The redi-GO could source the Renault Kwid’s 0.8-litre SCe three-cylinder petrol engine that develops 54 PS (53 hp) and 74 Nm of torque. The same 5-speed manual transmission should also be shared, albeit with slightly revised ratios.

It remains to be seen if the Datsun redi-GO comes with an AMT at the time of launch, or like the Renault Kwid, the technology will be reserved for a later date.
