2016 VW Tiguan spied at Indian dealer’s yard
Aravind Jayachandran, I'm a huge petrolhead, an automobile engineer, a massive fan of Ferrari, and loves collecting die-cast models for inspiration.
This could be the Auto Expo showcase vehicle.
A 2016 VW Tiguan was spied at a VW dealership in Bangalore, courtesy of Thilak Reddy. It appears to be the model showcased at the Auto Expo 2016. Since it’s a LHD model, it’s certainly not for sale, and could be the same Auto Expo showcase vehicle.
The latest VW Tiguan features a pair of angular LED headlamps with LED DRLs directly flowing into a grille, large 18 inch diamond cut alloy rims, a small chrome element on the front wing, a chrome line that runs across the side, chrome underlining for the window line, and roof rails.
Compared to first generation VW Tiguan, the new model has grown in size, measuring 4485 mm long (70 mm increase), 1839 mm (30.5 mm increase) wide, 1633 mm high (33 mm lower), and has a wheelbase of 2682 mm (76 mm longer).
Based on the MQB platform, the 2016 VW Tiguan is available with two engines in international markets: a 2.0-litre TSI turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine with 132 kW (180 PS/177 hp) and 320 Nm of torque, and a 2.0-litre (1,968 cc) TDI turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine that outputs 110 kW (150 PS/148 hp) and 340 Nm of torque. Transmission options may include 6-speed manual and 7-speed DSG.
