Previews new cosmetic features that could be introduced in the future.
Two days back Toyota Europe's newsroom accidentally published a press release and soon took it offline. Well, here's the 2016 Geneva Motor Show surprise Toyota was trying to hide - the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid Sapphire concept.
On display alongside the highly anticipated Toyota C-HR hybrid crossover, the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid Sapphire show car indicates future developments.
Toyota Europe isn't suggesting any technical changes in the RAV4 Hybrid by mentioning "future developments" though. The Toyota RAV4 Hybrid was introduced in Europe as the company's first hybrid compact crossover late last year, and its conceptual version in Geneva only represents cosmetic features that will be made available in the future.
The Toyota RAV4 Hybrid Sapphire concept features a unique blue body paint and body-coloured bumpers and side sills. The side sills have an extra chrome trim and feature a 'RAV4 Hybrid' blue badge. Inside, the RAV4 Hybrid Sapphire concept is given extra premium appeal with leather upholstery with blue stitching, Piano black inserts on the console and Hybrid Blue-painted air vents complete the changes.
Toyota wraps up its announcement saying that a full body colour version of the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid will be available in the future, and as for the availability of the other design elements shown with the RAV4 Hybrid Sapphire concept, it will be monitoring the customer reactions to make a decision.
