Following its debut at the Auto Expo last month, Tata Motors has presented the Tata KITE 5 compact sedan (codename) at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show.
The design and styling cues come from the Tata Tiago hatchback. The sub-4 metre sedan will be powered by a petrol or a diesel engine: the all-new 1.2-litre Revotron three-cylinder petrol engine that produces 85 PS and 114 Nm of torque and a 1.05-litre Revotorq three-cylinder diesel engine Both engines will offer the Multi-Drive driving modes (City and Eco models).
The Tata KITE 5 is 3,995 mm in length, 1,647 mm in width, 1,535 mm in height and has a 2,450 mm wheelbase. It is hoisted on 15-inch alloy wheels and has a 35 liter fuel tank. It rides on an Independent lower McPherson strut with coil spring at the front and semi-independent twist beam with dual-path strut at the rear.
Tata Motors said at its Auto Expo premiere that the car has a 5-inch entertainment system with an 8-speaker audio system and integrated navigation. The carmaker says the Kite 5 is a "sporty compact sedan" for today's young generation. Expected to launch in the second half of the year, the KITE 5 will have a class-leading 420 liter boot.
