Will reach UK dealerships in May 2016.
The SsangYong XLV has made its world debut at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. Based on the SsangYong XLV Air concept showcased at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show (2015 IAA), the SsangYong XLV is essentially an extended version of the SsangYong Tivoli. The production version's design remains close to that of the concept.
The wheelbase remains the same 2,600 mm as the Tivoli, but the XLV features a lengthened body from behind the C-pillar that increases the length by 235 mm. Thanks to this extension, the boot capacity has been increased to 720 litres. However, the increased length does not result in the XLV becoming a 7-seat alternative to the 5-seat Tivoli, in the European version.
The SsangYong XLV will be available with 1.6-litre petrol and Euro 6-compliant 1.6-litre diesel engines. These will be the same 128 PS (126 hp) 1.6-litre petrol and 115 PS (113 hp) 1.6-litre diesel units from the Tivoli, but with poorer CO2 emissions ratings of 159 g/km and 117 g/km.
Transmission choices will include 6-speed manual and 6-speed Aisin automatic. Both front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive drivetrain layouts will be available. The aforementioned CO2 emissions figures are for manual transmission and FWD configuration.
The SsangYong XLV will reach dealerships in the UK in May 2016.
