To be manufactured in Russia.
Following the teaser image, Renault has posted a short video clip of the Renault Kaptur for the Russian market, which offers a closer look at some of the design elements. More details on the Renault Kaptur will be announced towards the end of the month.
The basic design with a dual tone color scheme remains similar to the Clio-based Renault Captur. However, key elements of the exterior offer slight distinction, such as a wider grille, new bumper with C-shaped LED DRLs, longer wheelbase and new alloy wheel designs.
Company sources have told the media that the Renault Kaptur is based on the Renault Duster’s platform, which has been localized in most of the target emerging markets which are India, Russia and Brazil. The engine lineup is reported to include the Energy TCe 90 and TCe 120 EDC as petrol options, and Energy dCi 90 and dCi 90 EDC as diesel options.

A 5-speed manual or 6-speed EDC automatic could be the transmission options offered, while an AWD system is on the cards for top-end grades.
As for the Indian market, sources have revealed that car will launch in India in October 2017. The Renault Kaptur can be priced competitively, since the Duster's platform is highly localized in the market. The Kaptur will take on the Mahindra XUV500, VW Tiguan, Hyundai Tucson and the Tata Hexa.
